Illinois's Ball-Chatham Community Schools announced two new hires in the human resources and athletics departments this week.

The district welcomed Dustin Burk, who will serve as the director of athletics, and Ashley Romadka as the director of human resources. Burk's role is set to begin on July 1 of this year. Romadka will begin as human resources director beginning on March 7.

Prior to this appointment, Burk served as the assistant principal of Pontiac Township High School. He has also served served as a teacher and as the chair of the business department with University High School. While in these positions, Burk also served as head football coach, offensive coordinator and as an assistant track coach.

Burk holds bachelor’s degrees in marketing and business teacher education from Illinois State University and he earned a master’s degree in educational administration in 2011.

Romadka previously served as a human resources manager for H.D. Smith, a wholesale company in the pharmaceutical industry. She has also served as a director of human resources with Marketing Alternatives, located in Taylorville.

Romadka holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in psychology from the University of Phoenix and in 2015 she earned her Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) designation.
