Citizens' Efficiency Commission approves new chair, vice chair

Cec

The Citizens’ Efficiency Commission of Sagamon County, Illinois held elections for the chairperson and vice chairperson of the commission during its February meeting.

Mike Murphy was nominated to serve as the commission’s chairman to replace Joan Walters after she had moved out of the state. This nomination was made by vice chair Robert Plunk. Following this, Plunk was nominated to remain as the vice chair, but Plunk stated that he would be stepping down from the position to allow for more diversity in leadership.

In doing this Plunk nominated Karen Hasara to serve as the commission’s vice chair. After it was determined that there were no other nominations for this position, Hasara was approved as vice chair after a vote was held. All members voted in favor and the leadership was established.

Murphy stated what he aims to accomplish during the remainder of this term and expressed wishes for the commission to enhance its work in the future.

Following the leadership vote, task force work plans were discussed in multiple areas.
