Sherman trustees OK plan to split property into two parcels

At a recent meeting, the Sherman Village Board approved a petition to split the property at 2287 East Andrew Road into two parcels.

The Sherman Village board of trustees includes six trustees and the village president, all of whom are elected from the village at large. The board meets at 6 p.m. on the first and third Tuesday of each month at Sherman Village Hall, 401 St. John Drive.

President Trevor J. Clatfelter called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. and led the assembly in The Pledge of Allegiance.

OPENING: Clerk Oller presented Roll Call with four members present: Trustee Hahn,

Trustee Schultz, Trustee Timm, and Trustee Zibutis. Trustee Sherrock was absent from

the meeting. President Clatfelter stated that Trustee Long would be late and was not

present for the Village Board Meeting.

Also present: Byron Painter, Chris Fulscher, Mike Moos, Jeff Jurgens, Colleen Olson,

John Miller, Mark Gordon, Kevin Kuhn, Bruce Beal, Sandra Walden, Dave Stake,

Dennis Shackelford, and John Swinford.

President Clatfelter requested to set the Agenda. Trustee Zibutis made a motion to set the

Agenda. Motion was seconded by Trustee Schultz and was unanimously carried by the

board. Motion passed.

CLERK’S REPORT: Presentation of the Minutes and Approval were brought to the

board. Trustee Timm made a motion to approve the Regular Meeting Minutes of May 3,

2016. Motion seconded by Trustee Hahn and was unanimously carried by the board.

Motion passed.

Presentation of bills for approval was presented to the board. Trustee Schultz made a

motion to approve all bills to be paid. Motion seconded by Trustee Hahn and was

unanimously carried by the board. Motion passed. All bills approved for disbursement.

TREASURER’S REPORT: No report presented.

ENGINEERING REPORT: No report presented.

LEGAL REPORT: No report presented.

ZONING OFFICER REPORT: No report presented.

VILLAGE ADMINISTRATOR/ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COORDINATOR

REPORT: No report presented.

PRESIDENT’S REPORT: Action on recommendation of Planning Committee,

unanimously approving the petition submitted by Mark & Terri Beard and heard in public

hearing of the Planning Committee on Wednesday, May 11, 2016 for the property located

at 2287 East Andrew Road in Sherman, IL, 62684, Parcel Number 06-25.0-181-015,

seeking division of the parcel into two distinct and separate parcels. The board agreed

that there would be no problem for them to do this. Engineer Kuhn stated that the

Beard’s will need to get an up to date Highway permit from IDOT for the entrance off of

the road and that Trustee Zibutis would have to sign the plat to be recorded. Trustee

Zibutis made a motion to approve the recommendation of Planning Committee,

unanimously approving the petition submitted by Mark & Terri Beard and heard in public

hearing of the Planning Committee on Wednesday, May 11, 2016 for the property located

at 2287 East Andrew Road in Sherman, IL, 62684, Parcel Number 06-25.0-181-015,

seeking division of the parcel into two distinct and separate parcels. Motion seconded by

Trustee Timm and was unanimously carried by the board. Motion passed.

COMMITTEE/DEPARTMENT REPORTS: Trustee Timm informed the board that

the village Clean-Up day was a success and thanked all of the volunteers that helped.

There were 17 large dumpsters filled during the event

SHERMAN POLICE DEPARTMENT REPORT: Deputy Chief Chris Fulscher

informed the board of more vehicle burglaries in the area and they partnered up with

Crime Stoppers to air pictures of the person of interest.

EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCY REPORT: Mike Moos informed the

board that the National Weather Service will be coming tomorrow to do their inspection

to remain a Storm Ready Community.

DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS REPORT: No report presented.

CIVIC ORGANIZATION: None

PUBLIC COMMENT/QUESTIONS: None

EXECUTIVE SESSION: None

ADJOURNMENT: President Clatfelter called the Regular Village Board Meeting to

adjourn. Trustee Hahn made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Motion was seconded by

Trustee Schultz and carried unanimously by the board. Motion passed.

Meeting adjourned at 6:16 p.m.
