The City of Springfield has closed eastbound Capitol Avenue between Fifth and Sixth Streets to all traffic this week for sewer repairs.
The work is expected to last a week, weather permitting.
Motorists and pedestrians are asked to use caution in the area and to watch for construction trucks entering and leaving the roadway. Motorists who ignore the “Road Closed” and “Do Not Enter” signs are subject to a $250 fine.
