Sangamon County Liquor Committee met May 17.

Here is the minutes as provided by the committee:

Present: Lisa Hills - Chairman, Abe Forsyth, Tom Fraase, Linda Fulgenzi, Craig Hall, Brad Miller, Vera Small, Mike Sullivan and Joel Tjelmeland 

Not Present: Cathy Scaife and Sam Snell 

Others: Trustin Harrison, Joel Benoit, Connie Regan (Just the Basic Catering), Pamela Hart (Scott & Scott Law Office), Todd Smith, and Mary Carter (Secretary)

Chairman Hills called the meeting to order at 5:01 pm. Miller a motion to approve the minutes from the April 19, 2017 meeting and Fraase seconded Motion carried (9-0)

Additional Member: (add a member to the liquor license

o Just the Basics Catering II (Michael Higgins-Higgins & Higgins Inc.) Originally it was just Connie on the license and they have added Michael Higgins from Maldaner's. Hall asked if they sell food out of the truck (Streetside Bistro) and Ms. Hart said no they don't, the truck was never operational. Tjelmeland made a motion to approve and Fraase seconded Motion carried (9-0)

Temporary license was requested by:

o 2017-009: May 27, 2017 Curran Crossroads dba Trails  End Saloon (Deborah Bartz) 

2017-010; May 28, 2017 Curran Crossroads dba Trails End Saloon ( Deborah Bartz) Memorial Day weekend out at the Fairgrounds.

Hall made a motion to approve & Small seconded Motion carried (9-0)

Special Event license was requested by:

Trustin noted that you are only allowed to ask for 6 special event licenses per year. 

2017-01; May 28, 2017 #216 Weeble's Sports Bar & Grill (Fundraiser - Crimestoppers) allows them to have music until 1030p

2017-01; May 28, 2017 #168 Blue Grouch Pub (Music) allows them to have music until  1030p

Hall made a motion to approve & Fulgenzi seconded Motion carried (9-0)

Trustin Harrison report:

o Video gaming report was discussed. Last month's totals were 49k and this month is 44k. In June we will lose a couple of the lake clubs to the City.

o Tavern incident report was discussed. The committee was concerned about the 2 incidents with guns fired/displayed outside of the taverns: Blue Grouch & Third Base. No one was hurt.

Harrison talked briefly about the Zoning issues at the old Stuckey’s. The Zoning case was approved for Ron Metzger.

Harrison asked the committee if they think it would be beneficial to have a map of the where the liquor establishments/video gaming establishments are in the County on our website. The committee thought it was a good idea.

There was no public comment.

Small made a motion to adjourn & Fulgenzi seconded. Motion carried (9-0)

Meeting adjourned at 5:30pm.
