The Illinois Republican Party started a budget countdown clock on its Boss Madigan website a day after the 10-day special session began on June 21.
As of Tuesday, the clock had ticked down to a little more than three days.
Illinois has until the end of business Friday to pass a budget or face potentially disastrous effects, including a junk bond rating, the inability to pay critical state services and debt closing in on $20 billion.

According to the Washington Post, the General Assembly met for a total of just over 30 minutes on its first day, and House Speaker Michael Madigan (D-Chicago) didn’t show up at all.
"Time for Michael Madigan to act," the website displays over a page-wide digital timer counting down from 10 days.
“Mike Madigan has yet to put forward any solution to the budget stalemate or agree to reforms needed to fix our state," GOP spokesperson Aaron DeGroot said in a press release.
