Unpaid fines for Springfield-based campaign committees totaled $13,025 in January 2017

Campaign committees in Springfield collectively owe a total of $13,025 in overdue fees, records obtained by the Sangamon Sun show.

A detailed review of individual fines revealed that four committees in Springfield were delinquent in payment for January 2017.

The Springfield-based committee with the largest total in unpaid fines was Dads for Plains, which owes a total of $5,000.

The fine that Dads for Plains has yet to pay was imposed on Sept. 29, 2011, for over limits.

The following table lists all campaign committees in Springfield owing unpaid fines in January 2017, according to the Illinois State Board of Elections:
