Village of Dawson Board of Trustees met November 6. 

Here is the minutes as provided by the board:

Dawson Village Board was called to order by Mayor Dee Smith at 7:00 p.m., and followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.


Trustees present were Theresa J. Davis – Anderson, Jeremy Bounds, Jake Byerline, Robin Ashton-Hale, Josh Nibbe, Nancy Prytherch. Also present was Mayor Dee Smith, Clerk Jo D. Prytherch, Treasurer Shelly Farley, Engineer Kevin Kuhn, and Water Superintendent Jordan Lyons.

Minutes: Robin Ashton-Hale made a motion to approve the minutes, with a second by Josh Nibbe. MC

Bills: Robin Ashton-Hale made a motion to approve the bills, with a second by Jake Byerline. MC

Treasurer’s Report: Shelly Farley went over General Profit and Loss, as well as the Balance Sheet. Also announced the Time Capsule can be viewed at the Fountain of Life Church if you are interested in seeing the photos and different things that is 25 + years old.

Public Forum: Nothing to report.

New Business: Jeremy Cassen presented a petition to receive water on Strawberry Lane, Dawson IL, due to some problems with wells in their area, this problem has been addressed in the past and is still on the table due to the lack of funds and grants. EJ Water –we have decided not to proceed in its present form and cannot make the decision at this time. Leak Adjustment for Pat Petitt has been approved. Amending the ordinance on having chickens and rabbits in the village has been approved with guidelines, motioned by Robin Ashton-Hale and second by Nancy Prytherch MC except for one. Guidelines to be announced in the near future.

Engineers Report: Engineer Kevin Kuhn reported he had recently went to look at one of the plants that is coop and also went to their headquarters, they still have yet to provide answers for some of the questions he has asked pertaining to the coop plants.

Old Business and Trustee’s Report : nothing to report

Attorney’s Report:

Mayor’s Report: Dec 4 Board Meeting Pot Luck so bring a dish. Dec. 9 is Secret Santa. Dec. 16 is Senior Dinner.

Mayor Dee Smith requested a motion to go into executive session for Employee Salary Review. Nancy Prytherch made a motion to go into executive session to discuss employee salaries, with a second by Robin Ashton-Hale.

After returning to regularly schedule meeting, Robin Ashton-Hale made a motion to accept the proposal made in executive session with a second by Jake Byerline.

Meeting adjourned 8:30pm.
