City of Athens City Council met March 9
Here are the minutes provided by the council:
The Athens City Council met for its monthly committee meeting on Thursday, March 9, 2023.
Mayor Reichert called the meeting to order at 7:00pm. A roll call was taken indicating Alderman
Chernowsky, Alderman Hoffman, Alderman Puma, Alderman Tobias, Alderman Lantz, and Alderman Thompson were all present. Police Chief Tim Becker served as clerk in Rhonda Ethell’s absence.
Audience members in attendance included Gary Richardson and Linda Wasilewski. Brian Halcomb and Fadi Zomot.
Reports
The Police Report was presented by Chief Tim Becker.
The Treasurer’s Report was presented by Treasurer Derrick Fritz.
The Public Works Report was presented by Public Works Superintendent Derrick Fritz.
The Office Manager’s Report was presented by Water Clerk Michele Becker.
The Library Report was presented by Library Director Ginger Newingham.
The Cemetery Report will be presented at the Monday, March 13, 2023, meeting.
New Business
No new business was discussed.
Old Business
All old business listed on the agenda will be discussed at the Monday, March 13, 2023, meeting.
The Council went into Executive Session at 7:27pm to discuss personnel issues.
The Council returned from Executive Session and the meeting was adjourned at 8:20pm.
