The AI Global Summit will take place as part of the WMF 2026 event from June 24 to June 26 at BolognaFiere in Bologna, Italy, organizers announced on April 4. The summit is set to bring together businesses, institutions, and researchers to discuss scenarios, applications, and regulations related to artificial intelligence.

This gathering aims to foster dialogue among stakeholders as artificial intelligence becomes a key political and technological issue. Companies such as NVIDIA, Anthropic, and OpenAI are confirmed participants alongside internationally recognized speakers including Alberto Sangiovanni Vincentelli and Daniele Pucci.

Cosmano Lombardo, founder and CEO of Search On Media Group and initiator of the WMF event said that artificial intelligence now requires clear regulation, targeted investments, and broad debate involving companies, institutions, research bodies, and civil society. “Der AI Global Summit zielt darauf ab, einen konstruktiven Dialog zu fördern, Vorschläge zu erarbeiten und die Entscheidungsfindung sowohl auf europäischer als auch auf internationaler Ebene zu beschleunigen,” Lombardo said.

The program features thirteen thematic stages covering topics such as future-oriented AI applications, agent-based AI systems, robotics and physical AI solutions. Notable speakers scheduled for the main stage include Marco Pavone (NVIDIA), Bryan Madden (AMD), Alicia Hanf (LG Nova), Aprajita Jain (Google), Francesco Ubertini (CINECA), along with representatives from Microsoft, Dell Technologies, Intel and research organizations like IIT – Italian Institute of Technology and ESA Φ-lab. Fintech leaders Klarna and Trade Republic will also participate.

Institutional discussions will focus on digital sovereignty issues in Europe as well as changes in labor markets due to new technologies. Representatives from European institutions along with members of the Italian government are expected to contribute insights into public policy making around artificial intelligence governance.

An exhibition area will showcase advanced technologies while connecting startups from over ninety countries with initiatives designed to address fourteen future challenges identified by WMF organizers.
