Athens FPD responds to 24 fires in 2018

Athens Fire Protection District responded to 26 calls in 2018 – 18.8 percent less than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Athens included 24 fires – 10 structure fires, two vehicle fires and 12 other fires.

The department also received two false calls.
