Committee members in attendance, Patrick Phipps and Steve Bryant. Board member, Andrea Rediger. Superintendent Dr. Becca Lamon and the Director of Facilities and Grounds, Mike Dobbs.

GHS Roof Replacement (Phase II)

The roofing project is complete. Henson Robinson is waiting on the final inspection from Firestone to get the 30-year warranty activated

GHS Sewer Replacement

The project was completed without any modifications to the scope of work.

GHS Door Replacement

The remaining materials are scheduled to be delivered 8/6/2023 and will be installed as soon as they are received.

GHS Restroom Partitions

The project was awarded to M.J. Products. A site visit was conducted and the materials have been ordered with a material lead time of approximately 4 weeks. Once the materials are received, each restroom will be systematically closed off one at a time, to allow the contractors time for the installation. The estimated time of completion is 2-3 weeks.

BES Hvac Renovation Project

The first shipment of ceiling tiles was delayed due to color mismatching and excess dust from manufacturing. The replacement tiles were received on July 27, 2023 and installation began. The tile replacement is scheduled to be completed by August 8, 2023. All of the lighting fixtures have been replaced and operational. The replacement rooftop AC/Heating units are still not scheduled to be shipped until October 2023. The new units will be installed and commissioned over winter break.

Facility Assessment

We have received cost estimates on the items that were identified, per building, by the architectural firm. Principals and building staff have identified additional projects which were added to the lists. Dr. Lamon and Mr. Dobbs are putting together cost estimates for those additional projects.

WSEC Facility

The district received bids from six vendors. Michael von Behren Buildings was the apparent low bidder at $2,565,675. Architectural fees are estimated at $321,763 and a 5% contingency of $128,284 for a total estimated renovation cost of $3,015,722. The renovation cost does not reflect any additional costs for Furniture, Fixtures and Equipment (FFE) such as appliances and/or furniture. The administration is expected to present the board descriptor at the August 23, 2023 board meeting.
