City of Petersburg Finance Committee met March 10
Here are the minutes provided by the committee:
I. CALL TO ORDER
Mayor Rick Snyder called the Finance Committee to order at
7:00p.m.
II. PRELIMINARY MATTERS
1. Members present were Mayor Rick Snyder, Treasurer Melissa Riley, Aldermen Neil Conklin, Megan Loberg-Simmering, Andrew Gain, Bruce Gorman, Rick Sonnemaker, and Mike Allison.
III. Budget Discussion
1. Treasurer Riley started the meeting and began with the proposed police budget from Chief Mike Nichols. Council members went over the proposed budget with Chief Nichols. After about 15 minutes there was general agreement on what would be included in the rough draft of the police budget.
2. Next Fire Chief Eric Hubner presented the proposed Fire Department budget. Council members went over the proposed budget with Chief Hubner. There was a lot of discussion on replacing the concrete in front of the fire house and how to replace it efficiently. After while there was general agreement on what would be included in the rough draft of the budget for the fire department.
3. Next Street Department Supervisor Brian Whitehurst presented the proposed budget for the Street Department. Council members went over the proposed budget with Supervisor Whitehurst. After a while there was general agreement on what would be included in the rough draft of the budget for the Street department.
4. The next budget meeting will be on March 24th at 7:00pm for the water/sewer departments and the library.
IV. ADJOURNMENT
A. motion was made by Alderman Gain and seconded by Alderman Conklin to adjourn the meeting. VOTES: Gorman, yes; Conklin, yes; Loberg- Simmering, yes; Gain, yes; Allison, yes, Sonnemaker, yes. MOTION CARRIED. Meeting Adjourned at 8:34 p.m.
