City of Petersburg Water Committee met April 24.

Here is the agenda as provided by the committee: 

I. CALL TO ORDER

Chairman Bruce Gorman called the City Council to order at 7:04 p.m. 

II. PRELIMINARY MATTERS

A. Members present were Aldermen Bruce Gorman, Heidi Hiser, Andrew Gain. Also present were Clerk Ken Ortman and Gary Eckles. 

III. WATER DISPUTE

A. Gary Eckles presented a letter to the Council in regard to a large water bill from a toilet running for at least 3 weeks. The bill for the water and sewer charges was $1841.55. Discussion was held. Gary said the plunger got stuck on the chain causing 124,800 gallons of water to go down the sewer. He did get the High water rate after the use of 80,000 gallons of water. On consensus of the Committee Members the charge will stand as applied. The Committee did suggest that Georgia give him a payment schedule of 18 months to pay it off. 

XII. ADJOURNMENT

A motion was made by Alderman Gain and seconded by Alderman Gorman to adjourn the Water Committee Meeting. VOTES: Gain, yes; Gorman, yes; Hiser, yes.  Chairman Gorman declared the MOTION CARRIED. Meeting Adjourned at 7:20 p.m.
