Illinois College junior Deja Anderson has been named the Midwest Conference Field Performer of the Week, according to an announcement from the league.
Anderson, who is from Springfield, Illinois, achieved a long jump of 5.65 meters at the Roger Haynes Invitational on Saturday. This mark is her best of the season, currently leads all competitors in the Midwest Conference, and ranks 17th nationally.
The Illinois College Lady Blues Track and Field team will compete again on Friday as they host the annual Hilltop Classic at King Fieldhouse. The meet is scheduled to begin at 5:00 p.m.
The Illinois College Lady Blues Track and Field program operates within NCAA Division III and is a member of the Midwest Conference. According to its official website, the program provides student-athletes with opportunities for competition, growth, and academic achievement. It emphasizes athletic development, personal accomplishment, and balancing sports with studies.
