Illinois College Blue Boys Baseball completed a two-game sweep against Lawrence on April 4, securing wins of 15-5 and 14-8 in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
The victories improve Illinois College’s record to 13-11 overall and 4-2 in conference play. The team participates in NCAA Division III competitions, according to the official website.
In the first game, which was resumed after being rained out Friday, Illinois College overcame an early deficit with a six-run second inning. Adam Turner hit a two-run home run and Ketch Mills followed with a three-run homer. Mills finished with six runs batted in on three hits. Nathan Walker went three-for-four with two RBIs, while Turner added two hits and three RBIs. Anthony Buonaura earned the win as pitcher, allowing four runs over four innings before Aidan Lougeay closed out the game.
The second game saw Illinois College collect seventeen hits as they came back from another early deficit. Walker drove in three runs and scored four times; Tyler Barker had four hits including three doubles and drove in three runs; Mills contributed two doubles and two RBIs; Ethan Klunk drove in three more runs. Chase Schrader picked up the win by pitching four innings of relief while Coy Dettmer earned his third save of the season.
