Illinois College ended its 2025-26 women’s basketball season with an 82-61 win over Monmouth College on Senior Day at Sherman Gymnasium in Jacksonville, Illinois. The Lady Blues finished the year with a 12-13 overall record and an 8-8 mark in Midwest Conference play. Monmouth concluded its season at 8-17 and 4-12 in conference.
Before the game, seniors Amya Mayes and Jayln Patterson were recognized for their contributions to the team. Illinois College started strong, scoring 26 points in the first quarter while limiting Monmouth to seven. The Lady Blues shot nearly 53 percent from the field during that period and made three three-pointers.
Monmouth narrowed the gap in the second quarter by outscoring Illinois College 22-13, but the Lady Blues maintained a ten-point lead at halftime, up 39-29.
In the third quarter, Illinois College extended its advantage by outscoring Monmouth 23-16 and making nine of eleven free throws. Heading into the final period, they led by seventeen points. The Lady Blues continued to add to their lead in the fourth quarter with three more three-pointers.
Kallie Oestreicher was Illinois College’s top scorer with 16 points and four steals. Senior Jayln Patterson recorded a double-double with 13 points and a game-high ten rebounds. Cora DeSutter contributed eleven points off the bench, while Kaity Robinson scored eight and Anaya Patterson added seven as part of a bench effort that totaled 38 points.
Illinois College forced Monmouth into committing 26 turnovers, converting those opportunities into thirty points. The team finished with eleven three-pointers for the game.
Jayln Patterson completed her college career ranked tenth in program history with 1,126 points, third all-time with eighty-seven blocks, and eighth all-time with six hundred twelve rebounds.
