Illinois College’s Ketch Mills was named Midwest Conference Baseball Positional Player of the Week, the league announced on Apr. 6.
This recognition highlights Mills’ performance in a three-game series against Lawrence, where he batted .583 with nine runs batted in, six runs scored, and four extra-base hits. His achievements are significant for Illinois College Blue Boys Baseball, which competes in NCAA Division III under the Midwest Conference according to the official website.
During game two of the series, Mills went 3-for-4 with a home run and six RBIs, including a three-run homer during a pivotal second inning that helped secure a 15-5 victory. In game one, he was 2-for-3 with another home run and accounted for both of Illinois College’s runs. He concluded the series by hitting two doubles and driving in two more runs during a four-run third inning as Illinois College won 14-8 to clinch the series.
Illinois College Blue Boys Baseball offers intercollegiate baseball as part of its athletics program and provides competitive opportunities for students according to its official website. The team utilizes Joe Brooks Baseball Field for its games.
The Blueboys currently hold an overall record of 13-12 and are 4-2 in conference play. They will travel to Monmouth for a doubleheader tomorrow at 1:00 p.m.
