On September 17, four African American residents of Sangamon County had their COVID-19 test return positive”, according to numbers being reported to the Illinois Department of Public Health.
Since the start of the pandemic, 364 African American residents have tested positive for COVID-19, constituting 16 percent of the positive cases in Sangamon County.
