On September 20, no African American residents of Sangamon County had COVID-19 tests return positive, according to numbers being reported to the Illinois Department of Public Health.
Since the start of the pandemic, 377 African American residents have tested positive for COVID-19, constituting 16 percent of the positive cases in Sangamon County.
