Playa Bowls announced on April 9 the launch of Protein Clouds, a new line of smoothies and bowls designed to offer high-protein, nutrient-dense options with superfoods, whole fruits, and organic coconut milk. The company said these items are crafted to meet the needs of customers seeking functional wellness solutions.
The introduction of Protein Clouds responds to increasing demand for foods that support active lifestyles and specific dietary needs. Playa Bowls highlighted that these products deliver protein, fiber, antioxidants, and other nutrients aimed at supporting sustained energy and recovery.
The new smoothies come in two sizes: a 16-ounce option tailored for GLP-1 users with 16 to 17 grams of protein and as few as 330 calories, and a larger 20-ounce version offering at least 30 grams of protein. The bowls also provide high-protein alternatives suitable for various routines throughout the day. Danielle DeAngelo, director of research and development at Playa Bowls, said: “With any menu innovation, we focus on creating items that deliver across every dimension, from nutritional benefits and ingredient quality to taste and visual appeal.” DeAngelo added: “These Protein Clouds offerings go beyond a traditional protein powder add-on by combining high-quality protein options with superfoods, whole fruits, and thoughtfully selected ingredients that support both function and flavor.”
Abby Taylor, co-founder of Playa Bowls said: “This menu was created to meet guests wherever they are in their wellness routine, whether they’re looking for something more substantial and high in protein or something designed for a different kind of balance.” Taylor continued: “It’s about creating food that feels good, looks beautiful, and fits naturally into how people want to eat every day.”
Protein Clouds will be available starting April 9. For three days following the launch date (April 9–11), members of Playa Rewards can receive $3 off any item from the new lineup.
