State Representative Charlie Meier (R-Okawville) organized a free tire recycling event at the Bond County Fairgrounds in Greenville, drawing hundreds of local residents. Attendees brought a range of tires, from large combine tires to smaller passenger vehicle tires, filling an entire semi-truck.

“This was the third tire recycling event I’ve hosted around the district, and the community is loving them,” said Rep. Charlie Meier. “Seeing so many neighbors showing up to get rid of tires shows that there’s a great appetite for events like this. I want to thank everyone who came out for their patience as our volunteers worked through the long line.”

Meier emphasized the importance of volunteer support in making the event possible.

“I want to recognize all the volunteers who came out to help load the tires,” Meier continued. “Thank you to the City of Greenville and volunteers from the Greenville FFA who helped make this event possible.”

He also stated his intention to continue hosting similar events annually throughout his district.

Meier, a Republican, began representing Illinois’ 109th House District in 2023 after being elected to succeed David Reis.
