State Representative Charlie Meier announced on March 19 the adoption of House Resolution 637, which recognizes Blake Twenhafel for his achievements in agriculture and leadership.
The resolution congratulates Twenhafel for being named the 2025 American Star in Agribusiness by the National FFA Organization. This award is considered one of the highest honors given to FFA members who excel in agricultural business through entrepreneurship, management, and leadership.
“Blake Twenhafel represents the very best of Illinois agriculture and the next generation of leaders in our rural communities,” said Meier. “Earning the American Star in Agribusiness is an extraordinary accomplishment that reflects years of hard work, innovation, and dedication.”
Meier also acknowledged Twenhafel’s recent participation as a Page for a Day at the Illinois House. “It was a pleasure to welcome Blake to the Capitol as my Page for a Day,” Meier added. “He brought energy, professionalism, and a genuine interest in public service. I thank him for his time and contributions, and I know he has a very bright future ahead.”
Meier was elected to represent Illinois’ 109th House District as a Republican in 2023, succeeding David Reis according to Ballotpedia.
Meier concluded by saying, “On behalf of the people of the 109th District, I congratulate Blake on this well-deserved honor. We are proud of his accomplishments and grateful for his commitment to excellence.”
Twenhafel’s recognition underscores both his individual achievements and the ongoing importance of young leaders within Illinois agriculture.
