Sherman Library board discusses December circulation numbers

December circulation numbers for the Sherman, Illinois Public Library were discussed at its recent regular board meeting.

During the librarian’s report, it was noted 1,238 items were circulated 1,613 times. A total of 41 e-books were checked out through the library’s 3M Cloud system in December 2015. Within the area of reciprocal borrowing, 31 patrons are reported to have borrowed 205 items over the course of the month.

The library board also reports that through an interlibrary sharing program, Sherman Public Library has loaned out 3,626 items and borrowed 1,650 items since the start of this fiscal year.

The board also discussed plans to develop the library’s website for improvements. This measure will likely require outside assistance,

Summer reading programs are in the planning stages with organizations including All His Children and Camp Sonshine.

The board also discussed matters of employment and approved hiring a cleaning person for two hours a week. As of this meeting date resumes and applications for the Library Director position were in the review process. Interview decisions were to be made during an upcoming board meeting.
