The Springfield Mass Transit District said late last week that it will change one bus route and three schedules beginning today. In addition, a new Lincoln Tomb & War Memorials Express route will begin service Tuesday night.

This change in service will impact everything from efficiency to service gaps to route performance.

 “A year ago, we began an annual process of evaluating our entire system each spring and making recommendations for changes to address everything from efficiency to service gaps to route performance. These changes are a product of that evaluation and recommendation process,” Steve Schoeffel, SMTD’s service planning and marketing specialist, said.
