The village of Curran Board of Trustees met Nov. 10 to suggest changing the noise ordinance.

Sewer Committee
A bond counsel will need to be hired because there will be bonds to sell to secure the $450,000 of
USDA funding for sewer construction. Mayor Luckey has brought before the board, attorney, Mike
Southworth to fill the position. All members of the board voted yes to hire Mr. Southworth.
Finance Committee
Treasurer Bilyeu has begun writing the draft for the budget.
Action Agenda
1. The board was informed that if they are running for office again next year that their paperwork needs to be turned in between November 21 and November 28. Election will be in April 2017.
2. Mayor Luckey suggested that the board may need to change the village noise ordinance. Mayor Luckey has a couple copies of noise ordinances from surrounding villages that he will review to help determine how Curran’s should be changed.
3. Treasurer Bilyeu had suggested that the Village might consider changing banks because she heard that 300 Chase banks nationwide are closing. The board decided to continue with Chase indefinitely.
4. The board unanimously voted in favor of raising Mayor Luckey’s salary to $150/month.

Hearing of Citizens
Mike Tolliver attended tonight’s meeting to hear the decision of the board in regard to building the 30X150 foot storage building on his property on Werner Road. Three out of four trustees voted against the construction of this building. Trustee Thomas refrained from voting, as was requested of him by Mr. Tolliver, as it is a conflict of interest for him because he is a neighbor to the possible storage unit.
