Sangamon County Election Oversight Committee met May 9.

Here is the minutes as provided by the committee:

Present: Sam Snell - Chairman, Tom Madonia - Vice Chairman, Clyde Bunch, Brad Miller, Catie Sheehan and Joel Tjelmeland. 

Not Present: Abe Forsyth, Annette Fulgenzi, John O'Neill, and Cathy Scaife

Others: Don Gray, Stacey Kern, Craig Hall and Mary Carter (Secretary)

Chairman Snell called the meeting at 4:30 pm. Bunch made the motion to approve the meeting minutes from the April 10, 2017 meeting and Sheehan seconded the motion. Motion carried (6-0)

County Clerk Gray reported that they are in the middle of change of addresses for about 3300 voters. They receive the information from the National Change of Address Organization. They will be actively working on the voter rolls as well. By June 1st, Gray hopes to implement the biannual voter verification program. The voter mobile unit has been active and we have visited 4 communities so far. 

Approval to hire Makai Gant as temporary summer help @ an hourly rate of $10.00/hour effective 6/1/17. He will be helping with digitizing records. Madonia made a motion to approve & Bunch seconded. Motion carried   (6-0)

The requisitions were reviewed and signed. Bunch motioned to approve the requisitions and Sheehan seconded. Motion carried (6-0)

There was no old business or public comment. Tjelmeland motioned to adjourn and Sheehan seconded. Motion carried (6-0) and the meeting adjourned at 4:34 pm.
