Sangamon County Civil Liabilities Committee met August 17.

Here is the minutes provided by the Committee:

Present: Craig Hall - Chairman, David Mendenhall, Sam Snell, Greg Stumpf, Joel Tjelmeland and Linda Douglas-Williams

Not Present: Pam Deppe, Lisa Hills and Mike Sullivan

Others: Dwayne Gab, & Mary Carter (secretary)

Chairman Hall called the meeting to order at 515p. Mendenhall made a motion to approve the minutes from July 20th. Snell seconded and the motion carried (6-0)

New Business:

Brad Hammond-no report.

Dwayne Gab- Gab reported there is an upcoming case on October 10th at 9 a.m. in the federal courthouse. It's the Falyn Bruce case. She was the one who was taken to the hospital by the sheriff's office

Gab says that he also wanted to talk to the committee about how they felt about possibly cancelling a meeting when he doesn't have much to report. If the meeting was cancelled, there would still be requisitions to sign and the committee members could come into the office and sign when they can.

Tjelmeland asked what kind of money has been requested for the Bruce case. Gab suggested we go into closed session to discuss. Tjelmeland made a motion to go into closed session at 520p and Douglas- Williams seconded. Motion carried (6-0)

Snell made a motion to come out of closed session at 526p, Stumpf seconded and the motion carried (6-0)

The requisitions were reviewed and signed. Snell made a motion to approve the requisitions and Tjelmeland seconded. Motion carried (6-0)

There was no old business or public comment. Douglas-Williams made a motion to adjourn and Mendenhall seconded. Motion carried (6-0) and the meeting adjourned at 5:31 pm.
