Ball Chatham Community Unit School District 5 Board met August 9.

Here is the minutes provided by the Board:

A special meeting of the Board of Education of Community Unit District Number Five was held August 9, 2017 at the Ball-Chatham District Office which place is within the boundaries of said district.

President Steve Copp called the meeting to order at 4:32 p.m. The Board clerk noted that Board members Brewer, Copp, Durairaj, Maddox and Yurevich were present. Members Sieren and Worley were absent.

Administrators present: Jen Farnsworth, Ashley Romadka, Betsy Schroeder, and Supt. Dr. Doug Wood.

Approval of Agenda President Copp called for a vote to approve the evening’s agenda.

Maddox moved to approve the agenda for the Board of Education’s regular meeting of August 9, 2017. Upon said motion being seconded by Yurevich, the Board president called for a vote. All Board members voted “yes.”

Personnel Consent Board President Copp asked if anyone would like to pull any items out of Personnel Consent for further discussion. None were noted. Mr. Copp then called for a vote on the items listed under “Personnel Consent.”

Brewer moved to approve the Consent items as presented. Upon said motion being seconded by Yurevich, the Board president called for a vote. All members voted “yes.” Personnel Consent Agenda items included:

New Business Set Budget Hearing Date - Board President Copp noted that a budget hearing would need to be set before approval of the FY17 budget, and that the suggested date/time is 6:30 p.m., September 26, 2017 at the District Office.

Maddox moved to approve setting the FY17 Budget Hearing for 6:30 p.m., September 26, 2017 at the District Office. Upon said motion being seconded by Brewer, the Board president called for a vote. All members voted “yes.”

Communications Citizens: Opportunity to address the Board of Education concerning any topic. None were noted.

Adjournment With there being no further business, Board President Copp called for a motion to adjourn.

Maddox moved to adjourn the regular session at 4:34 p.m. Upon said motion being seconded by Yurevich, the president called for a vote. All Board members voted “yes.”
