Chatham Police Department issued the following announcement on Oct. 4.
Numerous car burglaries and a stolen vehicle have been reported on the west side of Springfield in the last 3 days. So far, we have not had any reports of this in Chatham and we would very much like to keep it that way. You can help us prevent this type of crime by making yourself a hard target. By simply following the 3 easy steps on the picture below on a nightly basis, you can drastically reduce your chances of becoming a victim.
Remember, if you see anyone suspicious or out of the ordinary in your neighborhood, please call it in! We are always open and happy to check out any suspicious persons or activity. (217)483-2453
