Report: Palestine spent $9,422 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at Palestine Community Unit School District 3 is down 14 percent from five years ago, according to a Sangamon Sun analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the Crawford County school district spent $10,956 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $9,422 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 365 to 304.

Palestine's spending in 2017-18 was 29.4 percent lower than the state average of $13,337.
