City of Mount Pulaski City Council Met Oct. 13.

Present: Mayor Bobell, City Attorney Jordan Klein, Alderman Davis, Emrick, Phillips and Rentmeister, Director of Public Works Matt Presswood, City Treasurer Tricia Aylesworth, Chief of Police Tony West

The City Council meeting was called to order, Mayor Bobell presided. Mayor Bobell led in the Pledge of Allegiance.
A motion was made by Alderman Emrick and seconded by Alderman Maxheimer to approve the items of business under the consent agenda; Claims and accounts and the minutes from the previous meeting. All voting yea- the motion carried.
Public Comments – Agenda Items Only:Reports by Officers:
Police Chief Tony West: All is going well. Going good at the schools.
Director of Public Works Matt Presswood: Matt had a meeting last Tuesday with Justin from Farnsworth and is in the process to get MFT lined up.
Matt feels the street patching that began late summer early fall went very well. The machinery was rented from Aetna township. Mayor Bobell gave approval to Matt to begin research on purchasing our own machine.
Lift station #3 is put back together, should be up and running by the end of the week.
City Treasurer, Tricia Aylesworth: Deposits to date: $ 1,290.95 A preliminary copy of the audit has been e-mail to the council.
Old Business: Mayor Bobell has been in contact with the engineer from the High School about a newsidewalk and curb appeal. Mayor Bobell will give the engineer Matt Presswood’s contact information.Mayor Bobell plans to attend the school board meeting to discuss this matter of business with them.
New Business: Mayor Bobell stated a grant application for the museum for $1,000.00 for continuation of roof repair project. A motion was made by Alderman Rentmeister and seconded by Alderman Phillips to approve the business district appropriation for $1,000.00 to the museum. All voting yea – the motion carried.
After a discussion and many concerns were given the golf cart ordinance is tabled at this time. Mayor Bobell would like the council to give Alderman Smock their concerns and changes.
Jim Fuhrer stated to the council he feels selling the water/sewer system is bad. Once you sell the system then the money leaves town. There will be no revenue from the water/sewer system in town. Jim suggests borrowing the money to fix our current system.
Other Business: Mayor Bobell stated trick or treating will be October 31, 2020 from 5pm to 8pm and recommends following guidelines.
Mayor Bobell stated Trunk or Treat on the square is October 24, 2020 from 4pm to 6pm.
Mayor Bobell stated water/sewer selling bids are due this Thursday. City Attorney, Jordan Klein stated as of right now no bids have been submitted. Jordan stated a committee needs to be picked by Thursday.
Public Comments – Non Agenda Items:
Executive Session: A motion was made by Alderman Rentmeister and seconded by Alderman Davis to exit regular session and enter into executive session to discuss personnel for 20 mins. All voting yea – the motion carried.
A motion was made by Alderman Phillips and seconded by Alderman Rentmeister to exit executive session and enter back into regular session. All voting yea – the motion carried.
Mayor Bobell stated no action was taken.
With no further business to discuss, a motion was made by Alderman Maxheimer and seconded by Alderman Phillips to adjourn the meeting. All voting yea—the motion carried.
