Village of Chatham Board of Fire Commissioners met July 18.

• CALL TO ORDER 

❖ Meeting started at 1730 hours.

• ROLL CALL 

❖ Present were Commissioner Holden, Commissioner Hill, Commissioner Hoskinson, Chief Self, Leyva, FF/P Bone, Laura Miktos, Bob Marfell

❖ Absent were:

• APPROVING OF PREVIOUS MINUTES 

❖ Open session minutes from June 20th, 2023, were discussed, Commissioner Hill made a motion to approve the minutes and was seconded by Commissioner Hoskinson; motion passed.

❖ Closed session minutes from June 20th, 2023, were discussed, Commissioner Hill made a motion to approve the minutes and was seconded by Commissioner Hoskinson; motion passed.

• PUBLIC COMMENTS AND CONCERNS: 

❖ No public comment

• OLD BUSINESS: 

❖ No old business.

• CLOSED SESSION: 

❖ Motion to go into Closed Session at 1732 hours in accordance with (5 ILCS 120/2) (c) (1) was made by Commissioner Hill and seconded by Commissioner Hoskinson to discuss and review the applications for the Lieutenant Promotional Process.

❖ In attendance were: Commissioner Holden, Commissioner Hill, Commissioner Hoskinson, Chief Self, AA Leyva, Laura Miktos, Bob Marfell

• Closed session started at 1732

• Closed session ended at 1811

• Returned to open session at 1811

❖ Motion to return to Open Session was made by Commissioner Hill and seconded by Commissioner Hoskinson at 1811. Motion passed.

• NEW BUSINESS: 

❖ Applications were reviewed in closed session.

❖ Letter from Mr. Perkins and the Board of Trustees informing the BOFC of the agreement between Local 4490 and the district to hire EMT-B’s and EMT-I’s was reviewed.

❖ BOFC reviewed the SOG’s and reading list for the Lieutenant Promotional Process.

❖ Special Meeting scheduled for August 1st, 2023 to review oral interview questions for the Lieutenant Promotional Process.

• ADJOURNMENT 

❖ Motion was made by Commissioner Hill to adjourn the meeting at 1823 hours and was seconded by Commissioner Hill; motion passed.
