Sherman Library board discusses director candidates

Library

The Board of Trustees of the Sherman, Illinois Public Library held a special session on March 9 to discuss director candidates.

Reference checks would begin for those candidates that showed promise during their respective interviews. The board members discussed the interviews and the candidate pool was narrowed. The matter was discussed further in the March 16 meeting of the board.

This meeting also consisted of a review of the library’s circulation policy. An amendment was suggested in relation to the interlibrary loan program. This amendment was accepted by the board.

The library also reviewed its contract with Watts Copy Systems for the next year. A representative from the company reported that copy and printing services would be carried in exchange for $150 per month. This contract was approved by the board on a unanimous basis.

Copies of the library’s personnel policy were made available so that the board members could review them prior to a full discussion on this policy that took place on March 16.

The Sherman Library Board meets on a monthly basis on the third Wednesday of the month. Sherman Public Library is located at 2100 E. Andrew Rd.
