Analysis: Chatham pays $3.01 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Chatham Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 75.1 percent of the $434,865 the Chatham Police Pension Fund brought in last year, or $3.01 for every $1 from pension members, according to a Sangamon Sun analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Chatham contributed $326,628 to the fund, which saw a $13,964 decrease in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $108,237, or 24.9 percent, in 2016.
