Today marks World Down Syndrome Day, a time to raise awareness and celebrate individuals who have an extra chromosome. According to statistics, Down syndrome affects about 1 in every 700 babies each year, with varying types such as Trisomy 21, Translocation, and Mosaic. Early intervention services play a crucial role in helping babies and children enhance their physical and intellectual abilities.

In a recent press release, Rep. Rosenthal visited Sparc Work Center and praised the dedication of the employees in supporting individuals with disabilities. He stated, “The commitment these employees have to help others in need is remarkable and reflects the values of Sparc.” He also acknowledged the center's programs and services, noting that they offer outstanding support that provides a better life and purpose to each person.

Individuals with Down syndrome require specialized services throughout their lives to ensure they lead healthy and fulfilling lives. Tailoring these services to meet the unique needs of each individual helps them thrive in society and showcase their special talents. Today, as we celebrate World Down Syndrome Day, let us recognize and applaud all those who contribute to helping individuals with disabilities be the best version of themselves, promoting their health and happiness.
