Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) records show that 79.0 percent of Glenwood High School's (GHS) 2015 graduating class enrolled in college within 12 months of graduation.
The 2015 state average for students in public schools was 70 percent.
For GHS, its college enrollment rate marks an improvement over 2014, when 77.0 percent of its graduates chose post-secondary education.
The data, collected by the National Student Clearinghouse, includes two- and four-year colleges.
Enrollment at GHS in 2015 was 1,415; 343 (24.24 percent) were seniors.
ISBE also said 63.1 percent of GHS seniors were "college ready" in 2015, vs. an average of 46 percent statewide.
All students who score a 21 on the ACT qualify as "college ready."
GHS students did better on math (58.8 percent) and English (77.7 percent) and worse on science (52.1) and reading (55.5).
Only 37.8 percent of GHS students were college ready in all four subjects, ISBE said.
