Sangamon County Civil Liabilities Committee met September 21.

Here is the minutes provided by the Committee:

Present: Craig Hall - Chairman, Mike Sullivan – Vice Chairman, Pam Deppe, Lisa Hills, David Mendenhall, Sam Snell, Joel Tjelmeland and Linda Douglas-Williams

Not Present: Greg Stumpf

Others: Dwayne Gab, & Mary Carter (secretary)

Chairman Hall called the meeting to order at 515p. Hills made a motion to approve the minutes from August 17th. Douglas- Williams seconded and the motion carried (8-0)

New Business:

Dwayne Gab- Gab reported there is an upcoming case n October 10th at 9 am in the federal courthouse. It’s the Falyn Bruce case. The judge re-scheduled it because she wants have motions heard at the end of October. We will just have to see what happens after the motions are heard.

There is a case that was dismissed. It was Hollinshead v. Corrections Dept. It was an excessive force case.

The Armour V. Brashear case’s motion to dismiss was denied. We have settlement amount, subject to the agreement, of $1,000. Tjelmeland made a motion to approve & Hills seconded. Motion carried (8-0).

Gab told the committee that it’s been quite the last couple months. He said his attorney’s and the jail are doing a good job keeping express down.

The requisitions were reviewed and signed. Mendenhall made a motion to approve the requisitions and Sullivan seconded. Motion carried (8-0)

There was no old business or public comment. Tjelmeland made a motion to adjourn and d (8-0) and the meeting adjourned at 5:24 pm.
