Analysis: Lincoln pays $5.36 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Lincoln Firefighters Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 84.4 percent of the $722,151 the Lincoln Firefighters Pension Fund brought in last year, or $5.36 for every $1 from pension members, according to a Sangamon Sun analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Lincoln contributed $609,350 to the fund, which saw a $2,689 decrease in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $113,615, or 15.7 percent, in 2016.
