Report: Auburn spent $8,947 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Auburn Community Unit School District 10 is up 17 percent from five years ago, according to a Sangamon Sun analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Sangamon County school district spent $7,634 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $8,947 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 1456 to 1364.

Auburn's spending in 2016-17 was 31 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
