Springfield Township Board of Trustees met March 14.

Here is the minutes provided by the Board:

Present: Supervisor Gary Budd, Trustees Don Willett, Mike Morris, Arthur Watts, Clerk Robert Remack, Road

Commissioner Ron Smith, Assessor Cinda Sausaman, Collector Janine Stroble. Excused: Trustee Shannon Lynch.

Meeting called to order at 6:00 p.m. by Supervisor Gary Budd.

The Treasurer’s report and minutes of the Board Meeting February 14, 2018 were reviewed. A motion was made by Mike Morris and seconded by Arthur Watts to accept the treasurer’s report and approve the minutes.

All voted aye. Motion carried.

Bills were submitted to the Town Board for authorization to pay. A motion was made by Mike Morris and seconded by Arthur Watts that said bills be authorized for payment. All voted aye. Motion carried.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS: $60.00 was collected from the Dumpster Program the 1st Saturday of March. A total of $435.00 was deposited this month.

NEW BUSINESS: Chairman Gary Budd said he wants to finalize the recycle/shred program at the April 2018 Board Meeting. He presented a draft of the newsletter to be mailed to 2,700 Township Households in April.

Affordable Shred will be on site 10 to 12 and Ultimate Electronic Recycling Inc will be on site 9 to 2.

Chair Gary Budd said other than moving some money in the Road District Budget to Maintenance & Equipment so it can be used and removing Sidewalk Account to Building in the Township Budget to buy LED lights, there were no significant changes in the Road District & Township Budgets. He wants to vote on the budgets at the April 2018 Board Meeting.

A motion was made by Arthur Watts and seconded by Mike Morris to adopt the 2018-2019 Regular Board

Meeting Schedule. An individual voice vote was taken. All voted aye. Motion carried.

A motion was made by Mike Morris and seconded by Arthur Watts to adopt the Annual Town Meeting Agenda.

An individual voice vote was taken. All voted aye. Motion carried.

A motion was made by Arthur Watts and seconded by Mike Morris to approve retaining the Audit Firm of Eck,

Schafer & Punk to perform the 2018 audit. An individual voice vote was taken. All voted aye. Motion carried.

A motion was made by Arthur Watts and seconded by Mike Morris to approve the Intergovernmental

Agreement between Capital Township and Springfield Township concerning printing & mailing of the Property

Tax Bills and the processing of the first installment of property tax payments for 2017 taxes payable in 2018.

An individual voice vote was taken. All voted aye. Motion carried.

Collector Janine Stroble reported the Township will not be mailing the tax bills this year, but the bills will have the Township return address and the Township will still collect the first installment.

A motion to adjourn was made by Arthur Watts and seconded by Mike Morris. All voted aye. Motion carried.

Meeting adjourned at 6:30 p.m.
