Village of Chatham Committee of the Whole met May 8.

Here is the minutes as provided by the committee:

A. Call to Order


1. Roll Call

Present: Trustee Mann, Mau, Scherschel, Chairman Gerger, Lindhorst, and Village President Kimsey. Absent: Trustee Fountain

Others present: Clerk Dahlkamp, Village Administrator McCarthy, Police Chief Foli, and Attorney Jurgens.

2. Public Comments Agenda Topics

There were no public comments on agenda topics.

B. Consent Agenda

1. Approve Minutes of the Tuesday, April 10th, 2018 CMW meeting

Trustee Scherschel moved, seconded by Trustee Mau to put the consent agenda on the table for action. The consent agenda passed 5 yes, 0 no, and 1 absent as follows: Trustee Mann yes, Lindhorst yes, Gerger yes, Mau yes, Scherschel yes, and Fountain absent.

C. Old Business

There was no old business this evening.

D. New Business

1. CMT Engineering Updates

CMT Engineer Jim Michael came and gave the board updates. They are currently taking bids for the Plummer Blvd. repairs. The tank painting status is running a head of schedule. There was currently a developer meeting for Glendale Estates. They plan to move forward with more construction on June 1st. Next week there will be a public hearing fo the Bucks Drive rezoning.

2. Village Manager Update

Village Administrator McCarthy updated the board that the recent purchase of a truck is ready for pick-up. He told the board that the property manager of Manor Hill II Subdivision agreed initially to widen part of Gordon Drive. They now want out of this contract. Another buyer is willing to buy the final lots. If the current owner of the lots do not get out of the agreement, they will wait out the 20 year contract until it ends up expiring. The cost of the annexation is $191,000. The land is currently zoned R-1, but not platted yet. Lastly, it currently costs $1,150 dollars for a Village water tap. Village staff has come up with a way to reduce these costs. The village is proposing a more efficient way to save money for this process. There will be an ordinance prepared to adjust those fixed rates. The dual tap rate will be effective once the ordinance is passed.

Trustee Scherschel moved, seconded by Trustee Mau to adjourn. This was passed by voice vote.
