Village of Chatham Village Board met May 22.

Here is the minutes as provided by the board:

A. Call to Order

3. Roll Call

Present: Trustee Mann, Mau, Scherschel, Gerger, Lindhorst, Trustee Fountain, and Village President Kimsey.

Others present: Clerk Dahlkamp, Village Administrator McCarthy, Police Chief Foli, and Attorney Jurgens.

4. Public Announcements

Les Morgan- May 28th at 10 am there will be a Memorial Day service on the square.

Village President Kimsey- Recognized Autumn Sanderson who is Miss Prairie State 2018. Autumn spoke to the board about how she will be competing for Miss Illinois in two weeks. Her platform is "Surviving 1/4" which brings awareness and prevention to sexual assaults that occur on college campuses. Village President Kimsey also recognized the Village Police Department for placing 3rd in the Illinois Safety Travel competition.

B. Consent Agenda

Trustee Scherschel moved, seconded by Trustee Mau to put the consent agenda on the table for action. The consent agenda passed 6 yes, 0 no, and 0 absent as follows: Mau yes, Lindhorst yes, Fountain yes, Mann yes, Gerger yes, and Scherschel yes.

C. Old Business

1. AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE VILLAGE CODE PROVISIONS ON EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AND LIABILITY, Ordinance 18-25

Trustee Mau moved, seconded by Trustee Mann to put the ordinance on the table for action. Ordinance 18-25 passed 6 yes, 0 no, and 0 absent as follows: Mau yes, Lindhorst yes, Fountain yes, Mann yes, Gerger yes, and Scherschel yes.

D. New Business

1. AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE WATER TAP FEE FOR IRRIGATION TAPS WITHIN VILLAGE OF CHATHAM CODE OF ORDINANCES, Ordinance 18-26

Trustee Scherschel moved, seconded by Trustee Mau to put the ordinance on the table for action. Ordinance 18-26 passed 6 yes, 0 no, and 0 absent as follows: Mau yes, Lindhorst yes, Fountain yes, Mann yes, Gerger yes, and Scherschel yes.

2. AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING A CONTRACT WITH KINNEY CONTRACTORS, INC. AS THE LOW BIDDER FOR PLUMMER BOULEVARD UNDERPASS STORM SEWER REPAIR PROJECT, Ordinance 18-27

Trustee Fountain moved, seconded by Trustee Gerger to put the ordinance on the table for action. Ordinance 18-27 passed 6 yes, 0 no, and 0 absent as follows: Mau yes, Lindhorst yes, Fountain yes, Mann yes, Gerger yes, and Scherschel yes.

3. AN ORDINANCE APPROVING A LEASE PURCHASE AGREEMENT WITH UNITED COMMUNITY BANK FOR THE CAPITAL LEASE FINANCING OF AN AERIAL TRUCK, Ordinance 18-28

Trustee Mau moved, seconded by Trustee Fountain to put the ordinance on the table for action. Ordinance 18-28 passed 6 yes, 0 no, and 0 absent as follows: Mau yes, Lindhorst yes, Fountain yes, Mann yes, Gerger yes, and Scherschel yes.
