Village of Chatham Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Transition Plan - Ad Hoc Committee met June 19.

Here is the minutes provided by the Committee:

A. Call to Order - The meeting was called to order at 6:00 PM by Chairman Terry Fountain

Roll Call - Roll call was taken as follows: present - Trustee Ryan Mann, Joe Frazee, Chairman Fountain and Deputy Clerk Moran absent - Laura Churchill - excused

B. Public Comments - None

C. Old Business - Chairman Fountain stated minutes from the following 3 meetings need approved. Trustee Mann motioned to approve the minutes from February 20, 2018, January 25, 2018, and December 19, 2017 and was seconded by Joe Frazee. All voiced approval. Minutes were approved.

Approval of the Minutes of the December 19, 2017 Meeting - Approved

Draft ADA Transition Plan Document - The committee went over the draft of the ADA Transition Plan page by page and looked at the organization and wording of the document. They made a few changes in wording, and they anticipate some re-organization of the format to include examples and also the indexing in the back of the document.

The ADA Coordinator position will be brought up at the next Committee of the Whole meeting and there will be discussion about whether this position should be filled by a part-time Village employee or use a current employee of the Village to accept this responsibility.

Chairman Fountain stated that he will add/make some changes to the ADA Transition Plan for the next meeting.

ITEP Application Status -The Village of Chatham submitted an application for grants to IDOT which would have helped with the plans of the ADA Transition Plan (streets/sidewalks), however, the application was not selected for a grant approval. Chatham is located in District

6. Funds will not be available through this grant. There will be a call to apply again for projects in about 1 1/2 years. The Village of Chatham will apply again if desired.

Before the Village applies again there are environmental issues that need to be covered during Phase I. This may include some engineering to be done, also.

D. New Business -

Long Term Planning Committee for the Village - There will be a meeting open to the public in late July to discuss possible plans for the future

of the Village of Chatham and how the plans will be accomplished, etc. The ADA Transitional Plan may be incorporated into the long term goals/plans that result from this committee going forward.

E. Closing -

Next Proposed Meeting - The next meeting is to be held on July 17, 2018

Adjournment - Joe Frazee motioned to adjourn the meeting at 7:40 PM and this was seconded by Trustee Ryan Mann. All voiced approval.
