Springfield City Water, Light and Power issued the following announcement on July 19.
Beginning Monday, July 23, eastbound traffic on Laurel Street will be detoured
between College and Pasfield Streets to accommodate City Water, Light and Power’s repairs to a
leaking water main valve. Lanes will reopen after road surface repairs are complete.
Motorists should plan to take alternative routes and should slow down and be aware of crews and
equipment in and near the roadway. In the event of inclement weather, this work will be delayed.
