Athens Community Unified School District 213 issued the following announcement on Nov. 14.
Athens High School Leadership is collecting items for soldiers for Christmas. These are suggested items: Sample sizes of toiletries: wet wipes, chapstick, hand lotion, sun screen, shaving cream, razors, toothpaste, tooth brushes, floss, shampoo, conditioner; Pre-sweetened drink mix, Slim Jims, beef jerky, granola bars, protein bars, hard candy, gum, fruit snacks, nuts, trail mix, dried fruit, stress balls, playing cards, small LED flashlights, AA and AAA batteries, phone cards, stationary, envelopes, stamps. If you wish to donate, items can be dropped off at Athens High School by November 29
