Dickson Mounds staff worked with Havana resident and Eagle Scout Isaac Snider and members of Boy Scout Troop #166 to construct the 30-foot bridge to connect walking trails on the Museum’s property. As part of the event, the Museum will recognize Isaac Snider, the Snider family, members of Boy Scout Troop #166, and sponsors including La Crosse Lumber, Steve’s Electric, Havana National Bank, Diane and Donna Stelter, Snedeker Risk Management, Havana VFW Post #6408, Bleem Family Chiropractic, Havana Ace Hardware, Kennedy-Sarff Real Estate, David and Denise Stoddard, Hurley Funeral Home, Armitage Collision and Tangles Hair Salon, and many other volunteers for their contributions toward this project. A commemorative plaque will also be placed at the bridge site the day of the event.
Light refreshments will be served. Museum staff will lead a nature hike after the ceremony. Registration is not required. Dress appropriately for the outdoors. Activities will be held at the Eveland Village Site on the Museum’s grounds.
