Illinois State Museum issued the following announcement on Jan. 4.
Deadline extended! If you would like to submit a photo of your immigrant ancestor for inclusion in our We are Illinoisans exhibition, you have until January 11 to do so!
We're looking for photos of the first person in your family to come to Illinois, along with their name, birth and death dates, state or country of origin, and year they arrived in Illinois. Email to erika.holst@illinois.gov.
Photos should be between 150 and 300 dpi (dots per inch) at 100 percent.
We Are Illinoisans will open February 22 and run through June 3, 2019.
