Report: Hardin County spent $8,515 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at Hardin County Community Unit School District 1 is down 1.9 percent from five years ago, according to a Sangamon Sun analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the Hardin County school district spent $8,683 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $8,515 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 644 to 579.

Hardin County's spending in 2017-18 was 36.2 percent lower than the state average of $13,337.
