Report: Rankin spent $10,186 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at Rankin School District 98 is up 9.7 percent from five years ago, according to a Sangamon Sun analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the Tazewell County school district spent $9,286 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $10,186 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment rise over the same period, from 221 to 231.

Rankin's spending in 2017-18 was 23.6 percent lower than the state average of $13,337.
